Russia, or the Russian Federation, is the largest country in the world. There are less than 60 nationalities that don’t need to obtain a travel visa prior to their trip to Russia. One of the most distinguishing features of Russian tourist visa is that it has to have strict entry-exit dates. In order to apply for a visa to Russia, you need to know your dates, purpose of your trip, and to have an invitation letter confirming all that information.
The most popular cities to visit in Russia are Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi and many others. Russia′s Tourist visa requirements:
Please make sure there is a 5 business days period between the date of application and the supposed date of entry to Russia.
Documents required:
- Original passport with two blank visa pages. Passport must be valid for at least six months after departure from Russia.
- Completed and signed visa application form. Even if it's being completed by AnyVisa, you will be required to sign it.
- One recently taken original photo (35 x 45mm)
- Tourist voucher and confirmation letter from Russian travel agency or hotel in Russia.

Citizens of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland should submit a proof of medical insurance valid in Russia along with visa applications.
All former citizens of USSR, or citizens that immigrated from Soviet Union or Russian Federation before February 6th, 1992 must submit one of the documents confirming that they are no longer citizens of the Russian Federation (“visa to Israel” or “permanent residence abroad” stamp, official document certifying that their Russian citizenship was renounced or photocopy of USSR passport); otherwise, applications cannot be accepted and processed.
An e-visa to visit the Kaliningrad region can be obtained by citizens of the following states:

Nationals of the following countries may obtain an e-visa to visit the territory of the city of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region:

Documents required

- Original official letter of invitation arranged by applicant’s host (friends or relatives) through the Russian Federal Migration Service.
Official letter of invitation is NOT required for this type of visa only in the following cases:- In case of serious illness or death of your relatives, emergency visa can be obtained upon submission of a certified medical record from a Russian clinic or a copy of Death Certificate along with the documents providing an evidence of family ties (copy of Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, etc.)
- Russian citizens and residents in Canada, who would like to travel with their family members (husband, wife or children) to Russia. Please write a letter addressed to the head of the Consular section of the Embassy or Consulate with a request of Russian visa for husband, wife or your child explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel and indicating address of stay. The letter must be dated and signed. Please submit a copy of your Russian Passport, status in Canada, a copy of your Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate of your child. The processing time for this case can be only regular and cannot be expedited.
- Non-Canadian nationals should submit a proof of their status in Canada (copy of PR card, work or student permit).
- A letter from yourself (if travelling individually) explaining who is travelling, where, when and with what purpose, addressed to the Embassy of Russian Federation with attention to a visa consul. For business type visa (Business support letter from Canadian employer).
