Have you heard of “In-depth travels”? It is a special term to describe those types of trips, which involve more nonstandard journeys beyond the typical tourist route. The term is mostly used by Chinese travel websites. So, according to the travel survey, more than 60% of Chinese travelers are willing to visit Africa as an “in-depth travel” in 2018. They would like to discover such spots as Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Namibia, Madagascar, and Tanzania.
One of the reasons why Morocco and Tunisia became such a desirable destination for Chinese travelers is the relaxation of visa requirements for Chinese citizens. Since June 2016 Chinese passport holders are allowed to travel to Morocco with no visa, and since February 2017 they got a visa-free travel to Tunisia. As for Tanzania and Egypt, they got a visa-on-arrival access.
If you are planning to discover one of those exotic destinations, check if you need a visa.
